AFTERCARE

To achieve the best results, it is essential that you understand and follow the pre-care and after-care instructions. ​

YOUR HEALING PROCESS WILL TAKE ~10-14 DAYS: During that time...

DO's

• Keep your fresh semi-permanent brows dry for the first 24 hours
• Blot area with clean tissue or cotton pad to remove lymph using patting motion
• Gently cleanse the treated area 2x per day with water and mild soap such as cetaphil or antibacterial dial. Then pat dry with a clean tissue or cotton pad. 
• Apply a rice grain amount of ointment provided in your care kit 2x per day until brows are fully healed.

DON'T

• Excessive sun exposure
• Touch area unless cleansing
• Pick, rub, peel  or scratch treated area
• Sleep on your face
• Direct water pressure on brows when showering
• Use sauna, swim, or expose to steam for 10 days
• Apply makeup and/or creams on treated area for 10 days
• Perform any hot and  heavy exercise for 10 days. Avoid sweat on treated area

WHAT TO EXPECT DURING THE HEALING PROCESS...

Please be aware of healing stages to avoid stressing about your brows. Your brows will go through several stages where they become darker, then will become scabbed and itchy, and will almost disappear (ghosting stage), before finally healing to 50-70% of original depth. Once you have gone through a full cycle of skin regeneration (6-8 weeks), it is necessary to schedule a perfection session (initial touch up) to complete the process. 

Day 1: Brows appear swollen and red

Day 2-4:  Brows are darker and thick but will lighten 30-50% and be smaller in size once fully healed

Day 5-10: Brows will start to shed and be patchy/flaky

Day 10-14: Brows have healed but the pigment is gone (ghosting stage). Do not worry, your pigment will resurface

Day 15-30: Your brow pigment has begun to resurface. Brows may be patchy. Schedule touch up.  

Touch Up Day 6-8 weeks: Initial touch up on brows to fix patchy areas. Fine tune shape and color.

AFTER HEALING PROCESS IS COMPLETE: EXTENDING LONGEVITY OF BROWS...

• Avoid exposure to direct sunlight or tanning beds: Apply sunscreen over your brows or wear a hat
• Take care when applying serums or creams: Avoid using retinol, acids, anti-aging, skin brightening or lightening properties near brows. 
• Refrain from skin treatments near the area: If you plan on getting a facial, let your esthetician know about your semi-permanent brow tattoo 
• Be cautious on cleansing brows: Avoid scrubbing or exfoliating properties on brows (around your brows is okay).

Touch up recommended annually to keep your brows looking fresh!
