Yes! They are completely different techniques. Microblading uses a handheld tool to carve small cuts to the skin to give hair like strokes. Ombre Powder Brows is done by using a tattoo machine to create a powdery ombre effect.
Pain will be minimal since numbing cream will be applied. Mild discomfort at most.
Approximately 3 hours. Client consent and consultation (15 minutes), brow mapping (30-60 mins), procedure (2 hours), pictures and after care instructions (15 mins).
Semi-permanent brow tattoo can last up to 3 years depending on clients pre & post-care, skin type, and lifestyle (sun exposure). Oily skin fades the pigment out faster than normal to dry skin.
10-14 days
Your brows will undergo several stages before it is completely healed.
Day 1-4: Brows are dark and thick.
Day 4-10: Brows scab and itch.
Day 10-14: Last scab falls off. However, brows are at the ghosting stage where the pigment has disappeared. Do not worry, pigment will come back
Day 15+: Brow pigment has resurfaced. Pigment may take up to 8 weeks to resurface depending on skin type.
Please see the aftercare page for details.
10 days after brow tattoo procedure or until last scab falls off.
Numbing cream may not be as effective, causing a more painful experience. You may have an increase of skin sensitivity. Caffeine can also affect your facial muscles which controls your expressions. This may lead to inaccurate mapping process. Caffeine can also cause excessive bleeding.
All permanent makeup breaks the skin to apply the pigment, the treated area need to be kept away from moisture, bacteria, accidental of scab removal which can lead to undesirable results. Sweating after a procedure might increase the risk of infection. Sweat is also full of minerals (salt) that eat out the pigment.

A procedure that uses saline solution to draw pigment out of the skin. The solution breaks up the pigment and pulls it out to the outer surface of the skin through a process called osmosis. It is similar to tattoo procedure, but instead of injecting ink underneath the skin, we’re doing the reverse, which is lifting it out. This is a natural alternative to laser removal.
Pain will be minimal since numbing cream will be applied. Mild discomfort at most.
60-90 mins (consent, numbing, tattoo removal, aftercare)
How many sessions needed will depend on how saturated the pigment is, how deep it was implanted and how much needs to be removed for the desired result. In many cases, only a percentage of the density needs to be lightened/removed and then we can continue the correction process by color correcting. In other cases where we have pigment misplaced or in an unwanted area, color correcting will not be an option and removing as much of the pigment as possible will be our ultimate goal. Around 3-7 session may be needed. Each session needs to be at least 6 weeks apart.
Your skin will take 4-6 weeks to fully heal. During that time, your brows will scab and the area may stay pink.
Right after the procedure, treated area will be red for the first 48 hours. Scabbing will occur and will take 7-10 days to fall off. Treated area may look pink for 4-6 weeks.
CLEANSE- apply saline solution to a paper towel or cotton round and blot 2x per day
OINTMENT- once all the scabbing has naturally fallen off, apply 1-2 drops of vitamin E oil at least once a day for 4 weeks. DO NOT start applying the oil until all the scabs have fallen off.
DO THIS:
- wash your hands before touching the area
- keep the area clean and dry
- stay out of pools, saunas, baths
- treat with TLC
NOT THAT:
-cover or bandage the area
- use other soaps, ointments, lotions
- pick or scratch the scabs
- apply makeup to the area
